Hey! See our new albums!

Here is some interesting stuff. Check out the albums with new pics of our little house just outside Joplin. Also, there is a house project album that shows our recent renovation which included new wall insulation, windows, doors, and siding. We also closed in our first attached garage with plans of turning it into an additional bedroom, bathroom, and laundry room sometime in the near future.

Shown working are Joel, Garret, Andrew, myself, and or course our number one child laborer Justice (now 2 years old).

Take care all, enjoy!

Finally!

Well, I am not sure whether this was due to procrastination or frustration, but I finally figured out how to add a new weblog entry on my own freaking xanga. It's not that I am computer illiterate, it's just that.... ok, maybe I am.

It's another screwy day here in the Ozarks. The sky can't seem to decide whether to send tons of ice or rays of sunlight. Once again, we have nearly a 40 degree temperature variance from one day to the next. On the bright side, Hollie has had a couple days off school as a result of the ice. On the dark side, I didn't get out of work and she just has to teach further into the summer now.

The saga of an old fixer-upper continues today as I contemplate replacing the solenoid in our new gas heater or just taking the dang thing back to Sutherlands and exchanging it. We got the part, but it looks fairly fragile (it's french) and complex. I guess the real question is  -  where did I put my receipt? If anyone comes across it, please let me know.

I guess I should apologize for putting, once again, a pointless and uninformative post out here. But, I don't think I will.

Take care all and don't drive like my brother.

Hello Folks,

Well, I put in the french door in. Just a hint to those of you do-it-yourselfers out there, flip flops are not the best footwear when working doing remodeling projects. I stabbed the top of my foot with a recip saw. Bruised the tendon or something. Anyway, so that is the tip.

On an unrelated note, I haven't been making good on my gaming debts. I owe Hallorm around 20Gs right now, and I don't think I will be making good on the debt anytime soon. Hope he can make it a while without it.

Well, Hollie and I are going to Wal-Mart.

Hello folks,

Just thought I would drop a quick note to say howdy. A lot has been going on around here lately. Hollie started teaching and is in the thick of things now. It seems like she is gone a lot and is taking some getting used to for me since I am used to her being around the house all day. Another reason for summer to be my favorite season of the year I guess. I have been working a lot lately, seems like I can't get out before 6:30 or so, and lately they have been having all the accountants working through lunch. It makes for a stressful week, but the evenings and week ends are always nice.

Last night Hollie and I went and visited Sam and took a tour of his dorm. His room was pretty cool. Just a couple of desks, a BIM style bunk bed (fortunately Sam's is the bottom and the roommate on the top bunk is topping out around 108 lbs), and enough electronics to qualify it as some sort of command center.

Meanwhile, I am revisiting an old friend (or addiction, depending on how you look at it) Warcraft. Its been great to get to talk to and game with some of the good ole folks and I have gotten a chance to catch up with some people. I am currently playing on the ten day free trial. Its been a blast and a nice way to chill.

No big plans for the upcoming three day weekend yet... but who knows what could happen. Worse case scenario, I will install a french door in our house.

Take care all and keep the message boards alive.

Check the Photos Out!

Hey all,

Just thought I would post some pics of our honeymoon trip. Pictured is the bedroom in the Tennessee cabin we stayed in, and the mountains is the view of the smokies from the back porch. Hollie and I made a trip up to Newfoundland Gap in the Smoky Mountain National Park to take a picture of the trail header for the Appalachian trail. It was pretty cool and brought back a dream and some great memories. You can't miss the giant superman, he was a 2 or 3 story iron giant in (of course) Metropolis (somewhere along the way).

Take care all, especially you Tuskain Raiders.

Jared
